Well as some of you may remember my "can I beat a mazda rx-7"
The kid at school always bragged about how fast his car was, so I finally raced him today, drag race, little over a quarter mile.

I had atlest 15+ cars on him at the end where I had to let off several times to stop from hitting speed limiter.

the main story is, fast aprently is not the same for everyone. He had a stick, and had plenty of experience. He clearly did not have the 255hp mazda.

 

You can pretty much write this down as law: The more a person brags the slower his car is.

Nice kill though. Always nice to put a loud-mouth in his place.

 

Funny, because a kid just bought a Dodge Neon (yes I said it) with a body kit, a big tach, some low pro tires/rims, CAI,Header,Exhaust. He thinks its a beast. Im sorry but dodge neons are junk imo. And his car is not fast lol.

 

Good kill. But Dodge Neons are not junk. They may be slow, but there not junk.

My girlfriend has a fully loaded 2004 Neon SXT 5speed. Its fullly loaded with the factory sport appearance package (NOT the SRT4 wannabe).

She bought the car new and it now has 33,000 miles and is holding up MUCH BETTER than her mom/dad/brothers - Magnum R/T, Daytona Hemi, SRT-4.


The kid you were talking about may have had a junker but please don't judge all Neons as "junk".

Glad you showed that kid who was boss, sounds like you got a good running LT1. Congrats.

 

I got to give the kid some credit, atlest he put up unlike many people. I get asked daily if I want to race by random people, finally I say yes, and they say "no ill lose", does anyone else have this happen to them?

Just for the record, the kids neon is sharp lookin.

That wasnt the twin turbo 3rd gen RX7 was it. Those are actually fast, def run mid-high 13s stock. If it was just a reg 2nd or 1st gen then yea 15 cars sounds bout right.

 

No, it was not a twin turbo version 2ed gen. I beat him by a bunch more then 15, but don't know how many. I think his driving alone got me 10 cars. Ill agree a twin turbo one would be fast. I think there 255 hp factory?

 

Asked my buddy today how badly the kid lost and my buddy said atlest 35 cars. The kid I beat had the nerve to say "you never had that thing on the floor did you?" Making it sound like my car was slow.

 

Hah funny uou would say that about people being all talk, then backing out when you finally say you'll race them.

I've had this happen a few times. One kid talks **** ALL THE TIME about how his AOD 5.SLOW Bolt on car will rip mine up. Then all of the sudden, when I hung with my friends bike ( Cause he cant launch the motorcycle lol ) he didn't want any of it. But now I might have to shut his CAI'd 1998 GT friend up. They all talk ****, and then finally when I am like Yea OK lets go, the excuses start. "O you'll win cause my tires are ****", "O it needs a tune up", "O I have to take my seats out first"(In a 15 second car? WTF?) ...

Good Kill, but take it easy on the street. I know it doesnt take much to get carried away, but think for a minute before you go street racing someone.

I had such an uneventful year lol I got one street race in.

 

I take as many precations as i can, i just wish we had a strip in town, id never street race again.

 

Yea you sound like me. I dont race inless its on a nice flat wide two-laner, no side streets/spots where pedestrians/cops will be. I get almost as much enjoyment out of punching it on deserted roads by myself as I do racing. But nothing beats showing a little muscle to rice boys. Try to give them a reality check every now and then.

 

I have similar things happen to me. I have imports riding my *** all the time when traffic is heavy but when it thins out where we could accually get on it the don't do anything. Or if we pass each other in town going in oppisite directions they'll rev the **** out of the car at me. But if we meet up later at a light or something they don't do anything. Or if I'm out in front of the house and they happen to drive by they always make sure to get on it and shift to show off their BOV.
About 3 times a week I run into a import on my way home from work. I'm always physced to race them but they never do anything. I even will sometimes go out of my way and turn were they turn off hoping that they might want to run. but like usual they dont do anything and I'm like WTF
and I'll turn around and go back where i was going.
The only people around here that want to play are morons in SUV's and trucks that don't have a chance in even making a good race. For example, this past Wed. at 5:20 in the morning I was messing with a toyota Forerunner doing 90-95mph
on my way to work.
Around here the import owners seem to be posers. Either that or there scared of LS1's. Maybe I'll get more races when I get a SRT4 next fall. I already have mods planned for it.
