C6 Kill

So last Sunday I was coming home from Church in the TransAm. I see this red C6 coming up on my rear. We both turn to get on the highway. I have always wanted to race one of those so I descided to be the jerk this time and throw some revs at the guy. Well he bought it. I passed a truck (luckily the only traffic on the road) and moved over and slowed down to 20-30 mph to let the guy come up beside me. I rolled the window down to talk and that fool took off on me. I hammered the gas but by that time he was a good two cars ahead. The instand I hit the gas he stopped pulling and I slowly crept up on him. By third gear I was on his bumper. Then in fourth I put a couple of cars on him and let off. It felt great to beat a C6. He was a cool guy he let me run out my car till I passed him. I think he just wanted to see If I could do it. We gave each other a wave and went out separate ways. I wish everyone was that cool. He could have easily let out sooner and claimed victory.

Nice job!! Way to take down a ~400 HP rig!!

C6's have some serious computer/tuning issues IMO ... they don't seem to perform nearly as well as they should, especially in comparison to the C5 Z06's that shine with "only 5 HP" more .

Obviously you've got a good working LT1 .

bt,
Do you have H/ C on the bird or did you spray him with the NX kit?
I might be totally out in left field, but think he should have put a hurting on you. Just my observation.

full bolt-on = around 300 horse + 150 shot = around 450 horse. 450 horse TA>400 horse C6 vette. Besides it's not like I flew past him easily. It took a couple of gears. It was a good race.

Remember that the c5 Z06 has much better gearing and it weighs 200 lbs. less. It also comes with non-emt tires. It should be a few tenths and mph faster.

you need to trade me those 11' zr1s for my 9.5's....you would have smoked him with the lower rolling resistance....j/k nice kill.

Nah, I think I will hold onto them for a while. Just buy some their not that high. Maybe we should race and see if that resistance matters. Should be close.
