There is this ricey looking 00 GT around town that never races anyone. Well last week I found out that it has a Procharger on it pushing 8 lbs. My friend in a 05 GTO raced him and I guess the mustang beat him by about 1/2 a car. This GT is not tuned and has nothing else done to it besides the Procharger. Well I ran into him a few nights ago and tried to get him to go from a stop but he wouldn't. Finally he went from a idle roll (coming off the light then nailing it). I instantly pulled him through 1st then went into second and kept the pull going. At the top of 2nd I looked in my mirror and saw him creeping up on me. About that time my friend yelled COP and I saw red and blue lights in front of me. Well the mustang guy stomped on his brakes and turned. I slowed down ready to be pulled over and the cop went after the mustang. There was no way the cop got my liscense plate so I made a break for my house. Luckily I got away.

Anyways, I'm going to put some Nittos on, some 4.10's in and get my ram air hood (I still have the stock air box on it). Is there any chance I could take him?? He was inching me but it was really SLOW.

 

with a few more bolt ons....yes.

 

When you say untuned I would have to differ there. Procharger, Vortech and all of the major companies send a chip with their install packages that must be ran. If he does not have that then he is taking a big risk with stock timing etc... (besides if he is putting a win over the 05 GTO then the charger is working to its potential, couldnt do that without a tune)

Good run , but in a straight up track race he is gonna take you pretty hard.

 

well i talked to my friend in the GTO and i guess that he was in 2nd at 3000 when he nailed it (why he didnt down shift i dont know) and that the mustang didnt pull past him until around 90 MPH. I just wish I would still be on the bottle because then it would be a different story.

 

Good kill and way to evade the police. More bolt on's and some Cam, Head and Valvetrain work would be beneficial.

If he gets the car sorted out he should be able to make 350 rwhp or so. Enough for a low 12 second pass in the 110-115 mph range.

see thats what i said. i figured he would have walked me from the get go. something has to be wrong with that car or else my car is just a FREAK!!! (im leaning more towards something being wrong with his car LOL)

 

That sucks bad to be hte mustang guy...good guy hardly ever races on the street. Gets into one race and it goes fine, races one more time and gets nailed by the cops.

 

By your times I wouldnt say your cars a freak, Its probably more bad driver...He should have atleast 350 hp and be running somewhere in the higher 12's .

 

That's why I said I'm leaning more towards there something being wrong with his car. Read the post, I was being sarcastic when I said my car was a freak. Also I need to change the sig, since that time, I have added an electric water pump, Pacesetter LT's, ORY, tune, and some ignition stuff.

 

I think you can take the rustang. By the way, the Nittos are junk. Get yourself some MT DR's for that 7.5" rear and see what happens. Woot

 

I had M/T but launching on a 150 shot a while back pretty much ruined my clutch so I sold them to a friend.

 

There's no way that GT was running right. If so, he'd eat you alive. My cousin's got an 00 GT that had a procharger on it w/ 8psi. It was dynoed at 399.98 HP @ the rear wheels.

 

I know that GT wasn't running right. He should have taken me from the start. But I'm just happy that I hung with him like I did. I'm sure if we would have kept going he would have had me.
