Beat a new Vette!

My friends dad just got an 05 red corvette automatic.

anyway he thought it was gods gift to cars etc etc. Then my friends started telling him how fast mny cars was and he said that he would blow my doors off.

long story short.

Race #1 from a stop....He got me out of the hole and we raced to about 100...he beat me by about a car length.

so then
I asked if we could go from a roll and he said ok.

Went from a 10 mph roll and I got him by almost 2 cars to 100.

Oh happy day

Re: Beat a new Vette!

Well...I am not gods gift to drivers. I can shift pretty fast and all...but I cant launch all that well and im not gonna slip my stock clutch.

Im having her dyno tuned after I get my true duals, ssra, a couple new 02's and gears installed.

Im guessing right now it is putting down around 360-370 to the wheels. Im looking for 380 plus after a tune, exhaust etc. That is about what the ballpark range is for guys with my set up. It is also a no option hardtop, no gfx, and I have the spare/jack removed. So She is about as light as it gets for a 4th gen f-bod.
I just knew i would get him from the slow roll....my car is a beast from a first gear roll....I jumped almost a whole car right when we hit it. Pulled VERY slowly after that to 100.

I think this winter im gonna have bo white do my heads for 650 shipped...he did my throttle body and I liked his work. The heads flow around 270cfm @ .600...which is better than ls6 heads....and I dont wanna spend an arm and a leg on new heads...so I am prolly just gonna have the heads ported this winter to push me over the 400rwhp mark, then Ill be happy for a while.
A 100 shot may be in the future as well...but im debating. oh...and a spec stage 3 is on the way.

this is kind of off subject.
But if I get my car tuned with just the cam. After I put the ported heads back on is it gonna throw the tune way off or what? I figured it might be close enough after the first tune...or hopefully they give discounts on return dyno tunes.

Not to steal the thread or change the subject, but what does your camaro weigh that has no options. (ultrals1) If you happen to know.

Re: Beat a new Vette!

I thought I read somewhere it was around 3350. So about 3300 without spare and jack. Those things were pretty damn heavy. at least 35-40 pounds id guess
