auto ls1 z28 vs my 94 z28

So last night i just happened to get off work way early and the gf was on her way home so i had some time to kill so what better way than to drive pointlessly around . I went around the local crusie spots and decided ill just head back to work and grab a bite to eat really quick. On the way there a ls1 z28 (sounded completely stock) with a mid 30's guy driving pulls up next to me and then takes off then drops back down next to me. There is traffic in front of us so i slow way way down to liek maybe 15-20 mph to let the other cars get aways ahead. He jumps first and as soon as i did i was pulling ahead with ease let off at about 70 with a good 2-3 car lead on him. The guy was kind of a jerk and wouldnt stop to talk. Everytime i get to play around with an ls1 its either a complete *** kicking or i will get my *** handed to me bad but im happy with the way the old lt1 does.....now that winter is comign soon i think its time to build an ls1 killer though

Cool. I guess the LS1 isn't the god that everyone claims it to be. People need to realize that the $5000 LT1s are starting to get a hell of a lot faster these days Less vehicle cost=more mod money.

Mods....1994 camaro z28 a4,rebuilt 4l60e,trans-go shift kit (3 washers),1le drive shaft, motive 3.73's,magna-flow cat-back,cat-co cat, hooker lt's,sw y-pipe,1.6 rr's,lpe cold air,bbk 58mm tb,free mods, nitto 555r extreme drag radials. Think thats about it. A lot of people tell me i have a pretty stout lt1(this comign from all my friends that drive ls1 ss's and z28's)their cars are quick too just seems if i can grab traction down low i pull them and they cant make the ground back up before the 1/4. I love both ls1's and lt1's (lt1's more ) but i think its good to mix it up with both. Thanks for all the replys guys.

Thanks for the response. Maybe you have raced some cool LS1 owners but I have yet to race one. 3 of the 14 I've raced have had their middle fingers out the window while they were pulling away from me. The rest have had a, "You've got an LT1. What did you expect?" type attitude. Hell, I've had a few not want to race me because "its not worth the gas..." A friend's friend even told me that it would take at least $3000 in mods for my LT1 to beat his stock '00 Vette. So do I have a negative outlook on LS1 owners? Yes I do. Do I like LS1 powered vehicles? Yes I do. Personally, I've yet to find a cool LS1 owner. Maybe you know a lot of cool LS1 owners and if that is the case then I'm happy for you. But for you to refer to my comment as homosexual in nature is just ignorant. How would you feel if EVERY LS1 owner you raced was rude and arrogant toward you?

Re: auto ls1 z28 vs my 94 z28

seems that you have met some a-holes. so by default every ls1 driver is an a-hole?? a lot of ppl on this site are ls1 drivers. you gonna call them a-holes too? of course not because most of them seem to be nice folk, just like i'm sure that in all reality that you are a pretty good guy. i mean, how would you like it if i took the quote in your sig and replaced "mustang" with "lt1'? i'm guessing that you and a ****load of others wouldn't be too keen on it.

and btw, there is a big difference in saying that someone's actions are making them look super-gay and saying that someone actually IS gay.

All the LS1 guys I know tell me that they wouldn't expect the race to be that far off and I have minimal mods, they actully think that I'll win...I guess I know cool LS1 guys, or guys that don't know the potential the car has.

Re: auto ls1 z28 vs my 94 z28

Hopefully I will get to race a cool LS1 owner one day or better yet, be one myself. Sorry for the flames but I tend to be negative in certain situations until something positive happens. i.e. a race with someone in an LS1 that has their thumb out the window pointing up instead of their middle finger.

SO your theory is that a$$holes buy ls1's or they become them after purchase?

Stop getting so a**hurt over it, Ofcourse LS1s are faster, they are newer cars... The idea is to make a car better "faster" the next year to sell the cars... Ohno your almighty LS1 engine got beat by a LT1 omg Hell is going to freeze over, Damn get over it.. If you dont like it go buy more mods.

Lol, this needs to stop now. I should've kept my mouth shut (fingers off the keyboard) but it is damn rare to hear of an LT1 beating an LS1 and I just had to vent. If you thought my post was bad then check out this quote from another member's signature

Wow, now that is flaming if I've ever seen it.
