99 SS vs 98 Cobra

Went to the track for test and tune last Thursday to simply watch the races, as I pull in, a dude in a 98 Cobra drives by me in the parking lot and revs up at me. I was like whatever. Got to thinking about it and went and found the guy to see if he wanted to run. The kid told me if I was willing to get embarrassed he would run. So, I paid a few extra bucks and got ready. I was nervous as hell because I knew he had Nitto's at the least and I have Kumho's. The first race I ran a 13.14 to his 13.36, second race was my 13.21 to his 13.42 This guy had nitto's, 5M and all this blah blah from what he said. I have a A4, lid, SSRA and Rumbler catback. When my car was bone stock, a friend of mine had an "01 SS and after driving my car he said mine was definetly more responsive and faster than his '01. Alot of guys said with the mods I have I shouldn't be running that fast. What do you guys think, factory freak????

Your car isn't a factory freak, but your times are right for the mods you have. The 60' in my sig. for the time I ran was a 2.1. What was yours for your times? For that Cobra to hit 13.36 he probably had a few other bolt-ons he didn't mention besides the Nittos, but nice kill.

A factory freak is an LS1 F-Body that will consistently run 12s exactly as it left the showroom floor (or lot) when it was new, with NO modifications.

I wouldn't call it a freak.
I know people hate mag times, but, a certain guy who works for a certain Ford rag drove that STOCK, in a LS1.
Not the norm(considering drivers)see alot of mid/low 13's in sigs on this site with basic bolt on LS1's, but, just saying.

Yep, neither of them are freaks. A freak LS1 is one that runs 12's with the paper filter and everything.

Yeah Its not insane or anything, but definitely one of the faster ones I've seen. Considering how much one of those flowmasters will actually gain you, and maybe 10hp from a lid. He dynoed 323 rwhp on a mustang.
