Well, this is with my previous car (never would have happened in my new Vette)

I was fast approaching a light where I wanted to turn left on and this nucklehead car was in the left lane going pretty fast, so I punch it to get past him and into the lane... (should have just hit the brakes a bit and went in behind him) but I didn't... Of course with my SS.. it sounds like all holy hell broke loose when I punched and sped ahead of the guy... (no intention of showing off or anything.. I just needed to get over, it was one of those split decisions)

So I am in the left turn lane, waitng to go and I see this guy staring at me, so is his Hot girlfriend...

Anyway, he is in lane to go straight and both lights turn green at same time, but he doesn't go anywhere.. I thought it was strange, but I just proceeded with my turn... well I look in my rear view and see this idiot turn from the straigt lane and punch it.. I can hear the thing roaring... I am thinking only one thing.. this moron wants a go!?!?!? so he comes right up next to me ( I am doing about 55)... and looks over right at me, (his girlfriend too).. so I laugh at the idiot and punch it... BUBYE!!! I hear his engine roaring and I am about 2 cars ahead of him when I hit about 110.. this is on a residential 3 lane street, so I back off and let him pass me... we come to next light and I give him the "good race though I fookin raped you" nod and turned separate ways...

The thing I loved about that SS is that NOBODY really knew what it had under the hood... People in their fancy $35k G35 Coupes think they own the road and this dinky little Camaro needs an asswhooping... So I had a lot of morons doin that with my SS... kinda feels good to let them know they just got owned by a $17k monster in their expensive little foreign car!!

Of course I don't get that much anymore... kinda funny, but people just KNOW Vettes are hot, but don't think twice about that lil Camaro.. poor schlubs!!!

 

Nice schooling. I wonder what he said to his girlfriend after that. Probably something like "He must have nitrous" or "He must have done a lot of work on his engine."

It's all good cause now he has respect for the SS and will think twice about a stunt like that again.

Please watch the speeds in the residential zones though.

Well, it was a main road, with 55 mph speed limit, 3 lanes in each direction walls on either side, a center divider, and only 1 light in about 2 miles... that is what I meant by residential.. and it was 10pm, no traffic... otherwise I would have NEVER went that fast.. and yes it was a bit too fast for my own liking even with other factors... I

I hope he does think twice next time... I can tell you one thing though.. from now on when he sees a Camaro, he will look for that SS sticker before he tries any stupid crap like that.. and his girlfriend will be like "Isn't that the type of car that guy was in when he bent you over?!?"

I had a similar encounter with a G35 Coupe this weekend. I was headed W on I-210 at ~10PM. There were very few cars around. I'm doing 70-75 in the second lane from the left when I catch a car coming up behind me. The ******* passes me on the right (there was a car in front of me about 6 cars ahead) and nails it as he goes by. I could hear his engine screaming at WOT, it was a G35 coupe. I decided to switch lanes and pursue.

I go about 3/4-7/8 throttle and stop his pull, he had about 4-5 cars on me. As soon as I clear the car on my left I nail it and immediately start reeling him in. I switch back to my original lane and fly past him doing about 105. I ran it up to 125-130 and had buslenghts on him. The guy was so embarrased he slowed down and took the next exit. I really wished he would have lined up to take his beating like a man. Nothing against the car, it's a real looker, but the driver's really do seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

I think those cars are pretty damned cool... very nice looking and a great ride.. but you are exactly right.. they get a little power under their seats and they think they are king of the road and have to show off their new hot ride.... They are clueless about these LS1's!!!

 

Yeah those G35's are one of my favorite cars, but seriously 280hp and 270 ft-lb of torque? Not going to keep up with even an LT1 for very long... I'll take one in black obsidian clearcoat
