Re: 99 Cobra?

No sweat. When they first came out, the 99's were quite the black eye for Ford, and that has followed them ever since.

Re: 99 Cobra?

with my mods in sig i ran a 99 cobra with catback, fender mod, and short throw shifter. he had went to the track few days b4 i did and ran 13.4@105 consistently. so my friend set up the race between us, becuz i trap consistent 104, so he THOUGHT it would be a good race.
anyway we went from a few 2nd gear rolls. and he instantly pulled on me, and kept slowly pulling. all runs he had me a hair off his rear bumper @100. we ran again last week, with me having a passenger, and him having no passenger. that was a huge difference. he pulled me pretty hard.
figured i would throw this out there, to give u more of an open view on these cars. they run pretty damn good if ya ask me, and he was stick

Re: 99 Cobra?

who said his motor was "built"??? Reread his sig, it has a small cam with no ported heads listed, and pacesetter mids....hardly built if you ask me.

Anyways since were on the subject.......Last week I ran my buddy from work who has a 96 cobra convertible (only 25k miles on it) his mods are 4.10's, i assume a cold air induction (maybe not), and he replaced the stock X pipe system with an off road x pipe setup with no cats.

We raced a few times from around 25-40 mph rolling starts (never got a chance to go from a dig, but i had drag radials so it wouldnt of been fair)
I pulled him everytime and by the time we shut down around 120 mph I had about 1.5-2 cars every race. His car is pretty quick, I thought it was gonna be slower than it was, but I didnt really know what those years were capable of.
