97 t/a vs mach 1

so i was cruising down are local strip with my friend who weighs 300 pounds. when we see this nice blue mach 1. we get up along side him and hes stareing me down and my car. so i downshift into first at about 20-25 and were off. i pull a 1/2 a car in first, hit second and spin he makes that half car back up. then i start pulling again i hit third and let of around 90 with a car car and a half on him. does this sound right for my mods? there in my sig.

Sounds about right if the Mach was Auto. A manual mach might have had a different outcome. What is your times? Machs usually run low to mid 13's (manuals) mid to upper 13's (auto.)

Low 13's are slow? I know it's not super fast, but definetly not slow. You have 5 posts here and all you do is talk smack.

With 300 lbs of extra weight on-board it doesn't sound right.

But then again, you have no idea what your car currently runs, so it still makes little/no sense....

Are you sure he was even racing???

Re: 97 t/a vs mach 1

but the lt1 has ported heads and full exhaust and intake. with those mods a well driven lt1 should be a very low 13 maybe even crack a high 12. sounds about right since a mach is a low mid 13. maybe he was the better driver than the guy in the mach cause the cars are fairly even with perhaps a small hp advantage for the lt1 and a small weight advantage for the mach.

I'd be pissed too if it took FI to get me BARELY out of the 13's.

It hasn't been established that he/she/it is even that fast.

This guy has become the "NutcaseZ28" of 2005.

Re: 97 t/a vs mach 1

the motor was just rebuilt, so its not like an lt1 with 100k miles on it. im sure that helps. i also have an x pipe with bullet mufflers dumping before the rear. maybe the small things like that are what gave me the advantage? im sure duals are betetr then the typical y pipe setup.

anyway im gonna try and get my car to the track to see what it can do. i dont have any suspension mods right now and i have stock tires, so i dont think i will et very well, but im more concerned on my mph.

thanks guys.
