Exclamation 97 Blazer VS 01 Z28 HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Well the story goes. I was rolling down a local area of highway, and stopped at a red light. I hear this guy rev at me so I looked over and it was a 97 Chev 2dr Blazer. I laughed and said what the hell, I haven’t ran in a week or so I’ll entertain him. My girl asked me, why are you going to race this guy, it’s not worth the gas? About that time the light turned green. WHAM we launch. He jumped out of the hole right beside me. Hit second and he was still running right beside me. I had him by a front end all the way up to about 90 then I started pulling on him. About 110 he was STILL at my rear bumper and he called it. Later down the road we puled in a parking lot and I asked him what he’s got under that thing. He replied ohhh just some exhaust and some things here and there. Then drove off slowly. The Blazer sounded really tame not loud at all.

I know I killed him. But I can’t help but fealing that my LS1 Z28 got

Are you sure it wasn't a Syclone or a Typhoon?

It wasn't a syclone. And it couldn't have been a typhoon. unless he did some extensive body work and slapped Blazer emblems on it. It's more likely that he just modded the hell out of a blazer.

Sounds like he might have dropped a new engine in that bad boy.

Local guy here in the Raleigh/Durham area has a '97 S-10 with an LT1 in its nose. It looks bone stock and is quiet. He says it suprises people on a regualr basis.

There is an LT1 s-10 blazer (newer style, '93 +) around indy also. I saw it for sale. I'm sure you could suprise a lot of people in it with a few mods. Some magazine had an LS1/t56 s10 blazer project a couple years ago. There are plenty of older v8 s10's. Looks like you ran into a great sleeper.

The 4.3 vortec actually has decent potential by itself. There are forged shortblock kits available for them, aftermarket cams, intakes, pretty much every bolt on thats available for our cars. Powerdyne and vortech acutally make supercharger kits for them. The vortech is the V2 SQ s trim blower set at 8-9psi, theres even an aftercooler available for it. Also, NX makes a N20 kit for the 4.3 as well, jetted all the way up to a 75shot. Theres a guy running around here with a 98 or 99 2wd 5 speed blazer, basically the base model, said he got the regular 2wd because it would be lighter. Anyways, he built the motor up, all forged internals, and hes running the vortech kit on it with an NX 50 shot as well. I havent raced the guy but have heard through the grapevine that the truck is no joke. Id love to see what it runs. I would imagine that 13s wouldnt be a problem at all providing he can get it to hookup. Anyway, just thoght I'd add my two cents.

I've got a 98 Blazer that I would love to have an LT1 dropped in it.

www.jagsthatrun.com has all a person would ever need to make this possible.

Except for the dump truck full of money - you have to supply that yourself.
