This happened last week. My g/f and I had just got through with bartending school for the nite and were on our way home. We were in our own cars, so I got in the lane beside her to wave good nite before her turn. I wasn't able to make my turn for the freeway so I had to go down a few streets to make the next on ramp. Well at the next light the left lane was open, so I move over the get poll. And I end up next to what looked like an early 90's CRX. He gives me a few revs, so I look over and see has some pillar gauges. So I think what the heck, I have been dying to run against an import and this is the first that wanted to go. So I give him a nod and wait for the light to go green. The light changes and he dumps his clutch and spins. I hit it and get all hook. As I get into 4th he is a few cars back so I shut it down and move into the middle lane to see if he'll move over into the left lane to go again. Plus my turn for the freeway is coming up. He stays behind me at the next red light. So after the light turns green I start off and move into the right lane so we can go from a roll. I'm just cruising in 3rd at about 35mph waiting for him to catch up. He punches it and I here his boost kicking in. So when he gets beside me I shift back into 2nd and put it to the floor. He jumps out in front of me but I instantly stop his pull. And as I hit 3rd we were side by side. And by 4th I'm almost a car in front of him. I make my turn at shaw for the freeway and he follows. He comes up beside me and asks if I have a v6 or a v8. I guess I fooled him because I didn't put my Z28 emblems back on the sides after I got my car painted. But I do have it on the back of my car. So I tell him I have a v8 and he gives me a thumbs up. I ask him if he is running boost. He nod and I say it sound really good. Then I give him a thumbs up and turn onto the freeway on ramp. It was a fun race and the guy was cool. Just thought I'd share.

 

I would have told him I was a V6, he would have had an even better expression on his face.
