Oh, and to answer your question on how I only paid $800 for 300hp; For one reason I know how to shop efficiently, and secondly I had a few friends that hooked me up with stuff (I bought it.. but it was cheaper than it should have been)

Ok, so you haven't actually modded your car yet to 300 hp? Did you ever take it to a dyno to get an accurate guage on what hp you are putting down.

List out the exact mods and prices if you have time, like a comphrehensive list of everything you have done, i really want to know what it takes to make a 305 have 300 hp.

Thanks

^ lol, ya I have already done everything to the car
1.) Heads- Port, polish, 3-angle valve job, gasket match. $600 worth of work, done it in $30.
2.) Performer intake (I could have done better, but I will be getting a different one when I get my new combo which will take me to 400+hp ) Worth $150, got for $80 I think.
3.) Performer 600 carb and Accel distributor. Worth $300+, got for $220.
4.) Cam. Undisclosed specs.
5.) Hedman headers. $140
6.) Custom 80-Series 3" exhaust. Worth a ton, got for $180
7.) Cat-Co Hi-Flow race cat. Worth $200, got for $45 I think
8.) Moroso hi-flow race oil pump. $90
9.) Dual-Snorkel intake. $15
There is a LOT to come, but I need to graduate college and get a real job where I'm not making a lousy 6-bucks an hour ( ) so I can do some more modding.

Why do these "Who would win?" threads never come back with any results?

Just race people, and leave these silly arguements on the playground.

First, why the hell are guys like gotboost on this frickin website in the first place? Second, even if we do work 40 hour days that doesnt mean the rest of our time is free, some of us have girlfriends and other things to take care of. Also, I would rather spend more money for a proven turbo setup.Third, if the mods listed our true the Civic has no chance in hell as long as you hook up correctly, you need to give more information. As for those that say third gens are pieces of crap you need to check again, I havent seen the results lately think it was voted that third gens looked the best of all gens, they are the cheapest, probably one of the easiest and best to modify, and despite what you guys say there are many many nice third gens, look at thirdgens.org. Can you guess what I drive? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/756169

What results are you talking about? Where did you find a poll that 3rd gens are the best? You must be on crack to think a 3rd gen looks better then a 1st gen. I like 3rd gens alot but damn....where are you finding this? How is it any easier to modify or any better to modify then any other generation?

This was pulled from your cardomain:

Bragging Rights
Quarter Mile: 16 s @ 84 mph->
0-60: 6 s
Est. Horsepower: 250
Weight: 3400

If they are SOOO easy to modify and SOOO great then why the hell are you running 16's@84?

I agree that 3rd gens are nice, but don't start making claims that makes you look like gotboost.

Re: '96 H/C LT1 vs turbo honda civic..who will win?

Um the reason I havent done anything to the engine yet could be because Im only 16 and have been working on that car for the past 6 months straight so Im taking a little break over the summer trying to save up a little money but it will be a couple years at least before I do anything serious to the engine. When I do something to the engine it will be in the winter when I wont be driving it. As for the poll, it was on this website and the third gen did win the title of "Which gen is your favorite/ which represents the Camaro name best" and if you read through most people say that looks wise it is a tie between the 1st and 3rd gen,http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ht=camaro+poll.

Dont get me wrong I love first gens, dont care much for the look of second gens, and like 4th gens but sometimes the styling in kinda bland. For the money I think 3rd gens are the best because they are dirt cheap, a mix of new and old, and when properly done can look very good. Also, various magazines have said that third gens are some of the best budget performance cars along with 80's mustangs. If you care I will find these articles for you but all I was claiming is third gens are not pieces of crap. For $800 you can get a 305/350 with a TPI setup and get into lo 13's fairly easily.
