95z vs. 40th Anniv GT 5-speed

Whats up guys. I finally talked my friend into racing me with his 40th Anniversary GT, its a 5 speed. He knew I would win and says that his car is slow all the time. He is planning on selling it this spring and says he might buy a lt1 camaro or firebird bc he wants something "fast". So we take it out to one of the bigger highways around here at about 2 am. We line up from a stop and we're off. I pull on him instantly and by the time he hit 90 I was about 7-8 cars ahead. I would have kept pulling more but I just stopped rather then waste my gas. I have a video of the race but I dont have anyway of putting it up. If someone would like to host it for me and tell me how to send it to them then I would be more then glad to try. Take it easy and be safe. Dustin.

NIce kill. 99-04 GT's are no match for a good running lt1 but damn 7-8 cars your boy can't drive a stick for s***.

good kill, and with your mods, that (im assuming stock) GT had no chance. but as said above, 7-8 cars is alot....

Yea we both knew he didnt stand a chance. He is bone stock, car has like 10k miles on it. My brother drove the car on the next race and it was pretty much the same result. My brother has a 6-speed z28 so he knows how to drive a stick. My new 3.73's must have helped out a bit

nice. yeah it sounds like you have a strong runnin LT1 there. sometimes i miss my old LT1's. nothin like a 10+ year old car beating a brand new car.

Yea it runs pretty good. I am hoping to run somewhere around a 13.2-13.3 in the 1/4. Should be somewhere close. The car ran about a 13.5x before the 3.73's and the tune. I dont really feel a huge differance in the 3.73's. But I think they did help me out some. I ran against my buddy's 94z28 with headers and exhuast, he has 3.23 gears and I won by about 1 1/2 lengths. I feel I should have done better but he has a pretty strong car too.

Yea those runs were last year tho. I still had the 2.73 gears and didnt have the tune. I know the trap speed was low tho, maybe even for the 2.73 gears.

Yeah, I expected a 82-85 mph trap in the 1/8th with your mods.

Yeah,
I would add that disclaimer in your sig about those bieng old track times. Reason bieng is that when I had my 01 GT it ran on average 79 mph bone stock and the ETs would average 8.90-9.00 stock.

Good kill with the LT1.
