Yea, I saw (I think on Hot Rod TV), a diesel with the "chip" thing done, wouldn't get traction for ****. I wouldn't be worried-do it!

 

I think he;s over pricen that 6 gun thing and thats all he said it would take to beat me. I guess I could let him waste his money and get smoked anyway.

Yeah I really think he'd be wasting his time to race me with his truck. I might not have many mods but still I just can't see it being a challange.

 

It's not too difficult to get a big diesel truck to go fast. Here's a video of a 4 door 4 wheel drive racing an LS1 Camaro at Sacramento Raceway. The truck ran 12.36 and the Camaro ran 12.95.

theres a local guy at my track who runs 12.9's in his turbo deisel dodge. its very impressive.

 

If its the same pickup im thinking of, it was in hot rod magazine last year or so. It runs 10.90s and he is and electrition and uses is truck to haul his stuff around for work every day. Oh and he is running a 75 shot of juice too. The article said he liked to street race alot too.

 

I have personally seen a diesel truck run low 11's at Sac raceway. Scared me silly.

Never underestimate the diesels. Mine has run a 14.0 in 90 degree heat which was before the new injectors and turbo. My T/A will pull on it pretty hard after 100 but they're dead even until then. Its great fun to see the expressions on peoples faces when this 7500 lb truck runs away from them.

 

ive seen a newer duramax running mid to low 7's at the local 1/8th. He woulda handed me my 8.2 *** !!!!!! 4x4 too , spinning all 4 tires in the box , it was one hell of a sight. My cars running alot better now tho , new plugs , delteq (opti was crapping out) , and found out the car was running with one cat already dead from natural causes. Fixed the other one now im ready to go .... curious about what Ill run myself now

 

Four wheel drive, wide traction tires, all geared and powered at 2000 RPMS, all the trucks have to do is jump off the line, and hold the lead that short distance. If it's set up right it WILL beat a camaro off the line every time, they have so much torque pulling their family inside doesn't hurt to much. Just ask ole Boon, he drives with one hand behind the seat and sipping his big gulp, while racing people, while their trying to shift to catch him his reaching for his dounuts in the next seat. It's true, camaros and stuff like that really are faster, but he jumps off the line first and just has to keep the camaro playing catch up until he crosses the line, then the camaro screams past after the race is over. He races while pulling campers and his boat, still surprises people. Shut down a civic(Definetly looked all stock) while dragging his camper home and his big trailer full of scuba gear...

My dad has a f350 powerstroke 7.3 liter with sixgun and banks exhaust.... i destroyed him.... just kick your buddies *** and put him is his place

 

YEah, this post went from racing a basically stock truck with addition of a sixgun to how great and powerful these trucks can be, after dumping $20K into them that is. If some hillbilly pulled up with his ugly wife and retarded kids, I would just laugh and keep on drivin. Granted i dont drive a bolt on Z, but even if I did, I would have the same reaction. If you want to go fast, buy a car! Much easier and less expensive to get to where you want to go(fast). Race this joker and show him that yes, his truck is a slow pig, even with a sixgun, blah, blah. And dont get a ticket, wouldn't that suck.
