'95 Mustang GT and '91 Mustang LX 5.0 go down.
'95 Mustang GT and '91 Mustang LX 5.0 go down.
I'll start with the cars.
'91 5.0 LX.
-150k miles on the car, only 50k on rebuilt motor. Stock rebuild.
-CAI
-Headers
-Exhaust dumped before rear axle (Sounds GOOD)
-Pullies
-3.73 Gears
-16x8 street tires
-5 Speed
-3450 pounds
'95 Mustang GT
-6,000 miles on fully forged low compression engine. 98k on the car itself.
There is actually quite a story behind this mustang. It was built by a Speedshop down here in Socal with originally, a very high duration Cam and an ATI Procharger P600B. Used to run 10 PSI all day long. Was sold to a friend of mine who didn't take care of the car, ran 14PSI and blew the motor. During the NEXT rebuild, the high duration cam was swapped for the E303 cam. The supercharger is in need of work so it is no longer connected, however the ported heads are still in place with the E303 cam. The mods are as follows:
-Headers
-Flowmaster Exhaust
-Fully retuned ECM or PCM or whatever it has, but still tuned for the other CAM and Supercharger
-Ported heads
-Pullies
-Rebuilt 5-speed, short throw shifter
-3.90 gears
-17x8 street tires
-~3800 pounds
And My car
'94 Camaro Z28
-Headers
-Flowmasters
-Cutout
-CAI
-Tuned by Madwolf
-3.73 gears
-Shift Kit
-160* Thermo
-All the Free mods
-3750 pounds
-I've been to the dyno twice, both times I came up with 301 rwhp. The first time it was sort of messed up and said I had alot more rwtq than I really did, hence the 2nd run which was recently, which I believe more accurately reflects the true output of the car. I know I should be somewhere between 280-290rwhp, so the Dynojet might still be messed up. I'm not going back for quite a while so don't flame me lol. Thanks.
And now for the times.
'91 5.0 LX
14.5 @ 102.1 Best 0-60 in 6.0
Best MPH of 103.
'95 Mustang GT
14.6 @ 97.8 Best 0-60 in 6.2
Best MPH of 97.8
'94 Camaro Z28
13.501 @ 106.02 Best 0-60 in 5.4
Best MPH of 106.02
New Record
So in the end it was a damn fun night, however my friend with the '95 was pissed. He is in DESPERATE need of a tune for that E303 and no supercharger. It was running weak all night, hell it lost to my other friend's '91 5.0 that is basically stock with a few bolt ons. We were expecting his car to be the fastest of the pack. However, it was nice being able to lay the smack down on my group of Ford Fanatics. I'm the only Chevy guy in my group, and now there's FINALLY some respect.
It was a blast.

Re: '95 Mustang GT and '91 Mustang LX 5.0 go down.
Good kills. You have to admit that the 91 did pretty damn well for almost no mods on a stock engine, he has the mph for a low-mid 13 second pass with traction, and your MPH is good enough for high 12's. That 95 sounds as if it has some serious issues. I am guessing that the low compression is killing times, and the E-303 is not a good cam for a blower. Were these weights with driver? Again, good kills.
Re: '95 Mustang GT and '91 Mustang LX 5.0 go down.
Thank you Scott. Yes, I was the most surprised of the how that little LX did. I wasn't expecting him to break out of the 15's, let alone BEAT my friend! Yeah, I think some sticky tries and more practice the both of us will have some MUCH better times. My other friend with the '95 needs a dyno day BAD, lol. I think the low compression is hurting him too. The weights I listed are the rough weight of the cars with the driver in it. My friend in the '91 weighs 220 or so, My friend in the '95 about 145, and I'm 165.
