so i have a 94 z28 auto (130k), and he has a 02 Mustang Gt auto (ah 22k). both pretty much stock except for an exhaust and an cai on my part.

me (the Z) and the stang parked right next to each other one nice day. We both happen to walk out at the same time after school and he's like "look at that peice...i bet mine will whoop yours." and so i was like "ok we'll see," This was the first time i've ever raced anything that i wasnt sure that i was going to beat, so i was pretty pumped for it. and we drive down to an appropriate location, and i said we should start from a dig and move up to 25, and then a 40mph roll ( i said from a 40 whoever to 100 wins) it is a pretty long rarely traveled road so we didnt have to worry about anybody no even cops (decent size town, they could care less about that road). and we start, i kick his a** out of the dig (atleast 5 car lengths) i let off at about 65, i already had enough on him we needent go any faster, we both didnt catch for a while (seemed like forever)but we both caught at about the same time and it was all down hill for him from there, 25mph was pretty close but i pulled it off by 2, i shut it down at about 90, 40mph was only by about 1, he signaled for us to pull over (i had my friend in w/ me the stang was going stag.) and so we pull over and he's like we should go from a dig again, i agreed since we both didnt catch barely at all. so we did it from a dig again and it was the same result except it was a little bit closer (he caught before me) but i still ended up winning.

so pretty much: The Beast: 4-0, Stang 0-4, The Beast= and , Stang= and

i find it funny how a 13 year old car can beat a 5 year old car, when the z still had more power then a 02gt, 8 years later...cocky mf. bet he didnt realize that.

 

pretty much stock LT1 beast? lol good kill...btw 99-04 GTs run real close to LT1's

I see this is pretty much your first post so welcome. I wouldn't be referring to your own car "stock" as a "beast" though.

 

Pyro, No 02 Cobras were ever produced.

 

Actually Ford did make the cobra in 02 they only make 100 and they were all in Australia. I meant to say 03 sorry.

 

yea I know, lacks some structure...and it could have a lot more power but for right now its pretty good, there arent really many cars in my area that can really beat it cept for maybe some of the newer sport cars and highly modified ones (not many at all, most kids are just trying to make their rides look good, not going for preformance), but until i meet one that just whoops the heck outta me (that probably shouldnt), i'm just gonna leave it be. traction sucks as it is, i guess til i dont get any is when it is good. and thanks for the replys, it feels pretty good to put a stang down into its place.

yea i guess that is true, good grammer does help a lot in understanding what someone wrote. But hey thats just how my brain works, guess i need to proof read 3 or 4 more times before i post... i was hoping some of you guys might be able to give me some hints on how to get a better launch? i try and wait til about maybe 15mph before i punch it,otherwise its an endless spinning and well thats not good in any race.

 

The LT1 does have the advantage over a 99-04 4.6 GT.My friend and I had a similier race.One year ago,my very lightly modded(in sig)LT1 versus his(bone stock) 2000 GT 5-speed.I put about 2 car lengths on him on the highway.He does still have the Mustang and has since modded it.I sold my 94Z,but plan on buying an LS1 in the very near future.

 

Tell me about it. My LT1 feels like a turd compared to my 90 LX, but that was modded to the hilt. The GT and LT1 really need mods now to stay ahead of the pack, family sedans have caught up and some have passed both in performance, not to mention the 4 cylinders with a hairdryer.

 

what family sedan are you referring to as an lt1 killer?I dont know too many family cars today with 325 LB/FT of torque.As far as "beast" goes,the LT1 Camaro was definetly a beast for its time.

Maybe you should check some of the cars from Lexus, BMW, Audi, G.M. etc. since you don't seem to know some of their numbers. There are a ton of cars right there or better than the LT1 stock, that is just something that we have to deal with.

 

Ok,you say GM.What family sedan from GM can run a 14.0-14.2 in the 1/4 mile.Sorry but you have to convince me.If you want to talk BMW.There are BMW's that will even smoke an LS1.
