94 T/A v. 05 STI = Loss for me
So, I'm not big into the whole street racing scene, I mess around a little bit but nothing major. But there was this kid talking so much trash I decided to bite. Apparently he drives his daddy's new 05 STI and to him, its," the fastest 4 cylinder car around here." Then goes on to talk trash about anything about any car. So I decided to try my luck and run him. We meet up with like 5 cars following to watch/block traffic but it being 1:30am the road was ours. So, with my mods in sig here were my biggest disadvantages: 1. 200lb passenger 2. Very bald tires all around (so bald they wont pass inspection). Anyways, we go from a 20-25 roll and he gets the jump on me and pulls half a car, I slowly reel him in but by 75-80 when we shut down I was at his door. We go again with similar results. Then we go from a dead stop. He tears out of the hole like no other, it just grabbed and went, me and my friend were amazed, I had no idea AWD was that good from a dig So here I am spinning like crazy while feather footing it till I get traction, by this point he's at my nose and once again by the time we shut down I was only at his rear quarter. All in all it was really fun and everyone was really cool afterwards, I was happy with how I did with basically no traction. I think with a good set of tires I could hang better. I knew the STI's were quick and I didnt think I would win...this time it sucked to be right. I think I fared pretty well, what does everyone else think?

The STIs are beasts from the factory, 300hp and 300 ft-lbs. of torque out of a turboed 2.5L. If you were that close to him with bald tires from a dig, then I would suggest sticking on some DRs and it might tip the scales in your favor next time. And next time pitch the passenger, the Suburu already has the advantage of lesser weight.

The fact that you stuck with him from a roll is good for you, especially seeing that you are an auto. They trap about 101-102 in the 1/4, so that's probably about where you are at. If he was only able to get a car on you from a dig, you should beat him with some DR's.

Man dont you hate it when a passenger makes you lose...you probably would have had him if you lost the extra 200lbs. Oh well, but you should ditch the passenge that way you only kill yourself.

There low 13 second cars stock and just evil from a dig...sucks but in a street race theres a good chance your gonna loose when you race a awd off the line putting down similar power w/ a rwd car

Nice run dude
I ran one lastnight from a roll in my Z and put a fender length on him with mods in my sig
gotta love the 4 speed where i had to only shift once as opposed to the 400 shifts he did

I raced one a while back from a 10mph roll...put him just behind my rear bumper by 55-60ish, then we had to shut down cuz of traffic. I can't really race an awd car from a dig cuz I have some crappy generic "winston winner" tires that get me no traction, I'd do it with some decent rubber, but not with these

I'm beginning to think I would have a much better chance if I got some decent tires and was alone when I raced. When I get my new tires its time for a rematch
