What's your definition of stock? I'm talking off the showroom floor. No drag radials...

Dan
It's been done before with bone stock cars. It is very few and far between. It takes a 6-speed hardtop car on a cool, low d.a. day at a great track, with a killer driver willing to break the car, and lots of VHT.

I can believe that it can be pulled off, like you say, but it's so rare that I would still ask the dude what he's smoking if he says his stock Z28 runs 12.9's. Not trying to be a jerk about it, I mean, I own a Z28 too. It's that same problem you get all the time when you ask what X model car runs in the 1/4, and everyone tells you the fastest stock time they've ever seen. That's for another discussion though. It's all good. I get what you're saying Steve.

I was reading a mustang mag. a year or two ago and they got something like 12.7-12.9 out of a late model camaro, so if a mustang magazine got those kind or time then it must be pretty easy to do. From what I remeber they were tring to let their readers know what they were up a against.

Yeah I know what you're saying. Most stock M6 LS1s do about mid 13s with a decent driver.

It was probably MMFF mag. Those guys drive the wheels off cars to get those times. It is not easy to get a bone stock LS1 into the 12s.
