'90 IROC-Z vs. WRX

i have noooo idea wtf kind of car it was because im not into subaru, but i did read "WRX" on it... anyways, im comming from my friends house and i wasn't paying attention to the guy next to me. the light turns green and i take off, but not like i was going to race... and i guess the guy next to me thought i was trying him cuz my exhaust is really loud (that or didn't know better thinking iroc's are slow). he took off like a bat out of hell and when i heard him i slammed on my gas, and left it in D. he pulled right up next to me and we stayed next to eachother pretty much throughout the race but i started to pull on him up at around 80, then he stopped. i saw him pull up next to me and give me the "thumbs up"... i saw he was turning left so i wanted to take another stab at him and i went over behind him while he was turning. he took off slow to turn and once he turned, he took off again... this time i was ready and i took the turn in D1 and took off screaming! i threw it in D2 and, even though he had a 2 car head start, i caught right up to him and passed him at the same moment i shot into 3rd gear... guess he didnt like that and he put on his high beams lol. anyways, my question is this... im not running the 14.5's on my sig anymore, i SHOULD be running between 13.9-14.2 with the new mods i havn't listed yet... are the WSX's fast cars or slow cars? it was a newer model and i know it said something else next to the sign that red WRX on the back left of his car. i could understand how i stayed next to him the first race... i was still in 2nd gear while he was in first, leaving the car in D didn't let it drop into first again. i know he was hitting it because when i was passing him i had my windows down and i could hear his after market exhaust screaming on WOT... i just needed to get a shot at him off the hole lol

They normally trap about 94 in the 1/4 mile. Most of the ET they get is from the launch. They can trap a mid 14 and sometimes a low 14, but they have to beat on the tranny at the launch to get it. There are some easy mods to make them quicker though.

They are less than 180 HP to the wheels and weigh about 3200 lbs. They do have all wheel drive, which is nice, and they do handle pretty well.

then im pretty glad i beat him he had the advantage since he took off out of the hole and i didn't, and i still managed to pull maybe half a car on him (first race)... the more i race cars that should be hitting low 14's, the more i want to take her down to the track to see what she's running! damn... i can't wait

racing cars that run low 14's with AWD are a lot different than a car with RWD. Those WRX's fall on there face after 2nd gear. race some stock LT1's that should give you a idea of what your running.

Good kill, I've heard they run decent but still you have the torque advantage. Stock LT1's shouldn't be a problem either unless maybe you're running them at over100mph...
I once had a GST do a fly-by that took me 'til almost 120mph to catch and pass, but if he hadn't pulled that crap I'd have stopped racing him around 100mph..Our cars are killer from red-light to red-light!..if you hook...

You can't say some one with a BEST of 14.5 @ 95.50 mph wouldn't have a problem with stock LT1's considering they trap 4 mph higher. The way his car sits now he would get beat by a healthy stock LT1 through the 1/4

Cahill93Z : i hope you read the part of my post where i said im not running 14.5's anymore, i should be running between 13.9 to 14.2

i raced an LT1 (my cousin's friend) today that ran a 14.2 in the 1/4 mile and i took half a car on him at 95 and at 120 mph he didnt move up at all...i've seen stock (or pretty much stock) LT1's at the track run from 14.7 to 14.1, all of them stick shift... i havn't ran a modded LT1 yet, but im not sure i really want to yet, lol

Racing a modded LT-1 or LS-1 is a whole nother ball game compared to stock! Definately be careful with them.

Good kill!
