2001 ss vs 2000 z28

Many people always ask what's faster. An ss or a z28.A 2000 or a 2001?Well.Here's the deal.Me and my friends were cruising around.Me in my 2001 ss,2 people inside. And him.2000 z28,3 people inside.Around the same raceweight though.I was driving behind him when he slowed down and downshifted into second.I immidiately knew what he was up to.So i downshift to second aswell and drive next to him.I let him punch it first, and i immidiately step on it after him.We were dead even untill he hit the speed liliter at around 115mph.After 80mph i started pulling on him slightly, but nothing noticable.By the time he hit the speed limiter his nose was at my door.He has a homemade loudmouth catback, and i have a magnaflow catback. Those are the only mods so far.

So there you get it.An ss is no faster then a regular z28,and a 2001 is no faster then a 2000.Unless some are freaks of course.

They have different parts but they are like a box of chocolates. My buddy had a 99 SS A4 and I had a 99 Z28 A4. He was faster stock but when we did the same mods my car was faster. Go figure.

Well i guess at first the SS has a marginal HP advantage with the better flowing exhaust and intake, but after you put an exhaust and intake on a z28, the z will be faster because...i dunno it weights less? either way i would rather have an SS

No one ever said the ss was faster..its merely an apperance package, and the 01 is indeed faster on average, its been proven ..You cant go buy 2 cars racing each other cause every car runs differently

Everyone i ever met said the ss is faster then the z28,and on this board people always claim that the 2001-2002 cars are faster. All i'm saying is,that they're all the same.None will be so much faster that he'll leave the other car behind by a car length or more.

It's supposed to be like 10-15hp without the 345hp package from slp.
