I'll give you guys a tip....

People don't like these words levied against them. No big secret huh.

So the best policy, even on the net, has always been to talk to people with respect. In case some of you came from another planet.... Name-calling is disrespectful and is generally used when you intend to insult. So don't be suprised when people take it that way.

Let's keep it civil.

I dont understand the original posters sig. Why would you put 4.11's in an A4...what is your gas mileage with those? So now ou plan on getting 3.42's? And why the larger injectors they dont do anything either?

Re: 1st time to track disspointed...

When i bought the car the man who owned it previous, installed the gears and injectors, he was running N20 on it and i dont know maybe he wanted it to run really rich or something, and that is what it does. The gas mileage is horrid. Its like 12 the most per gallon. I get like 150-160 to the tank. And it dosent help that i live in the city, niether.

You def need a tune...you should go down to 3.42's...if you dont drive on the freeway ever i guess 3.73's. 4.11 is way to much gear. The previous owner seems like he wanst capable of moding the car very well. 4.11 Gears, injectors and the flowcrapper. Get that stuff taken care of, hell just get a tune and some bfg drag radails and you should run mid 13's with a hella good 60' with that gear.

Re: 1st time to track disspointed...

I had to drive all the way to New Hampshire to pick it up and find out the car had all these other things not listed lol. Becuase of his installing the gears, he didnt recalibrate the speedometer, and the mileage was at 104500. He had them on for about 4 months he says, So i say the car is around 101K maybe a less becuase the speedo says 105 when doing really doing 70mph. In the last 3 months it says i put around 6k miles on it , i maybe put near 2800-3 the most. When i put the 3.42's on im making sure the speedo is calibrated, i cant deal with it anymore. I drive on the highway pretty much everyweekend and my car is screaming at times, At like 65 im around 3200 rpms if not a lil more. Its a gas gussler to say the least.

65-70 its around the 3k mark, i cant tell for sure if that is the speed but while driving next to my frend while he was doing 70 it said 105 on the speedo, and it was reading 3100 rpms ish, and im not even sure if they are 4.11's do they make higher gears for our car, becuase the guy who owned it previous seemed like he didnt know what he was doing and it wouldnt surprise me if the gears were higher

Maybe your car is stuck in D and won't go into o/d. Check the rear end gear ratio by jacking up the rear end, marking the driveshaft and a rear tire and spin the tire and count driveshaft revolutions vs. tire revolutions. That is your ratio. Let us know. I'm pretty sure 4.10s are the lowest ratio available for the stock 10-bolt.

Re: 1st time to track disspointed...

Would that make the 3k rpms at around that speed, in D ? I drive alot on the highway so the 4.11's or 4.10's that are in there are only hurting me on the highway. So the 3.42's seem more realistic for my situation, correct?

It would make 3500 rpm at 65 mph stuck in D with 4.10s. I would do the rear end thing I said and see which gears are in there. Maybe you have a slipping tranny? Maybe you have 3.42s or something and your trans is stuck in D?
