04 Cobra Vs 1995 Z28

My first race with the new car.Im getting on the interstate when he pulls along side me and asks if my cobra was a 99.I said nope 04.He says oh %^&*! but then says well I have all the bolt ons so lets try anyways for fun.Im like ok.So we both take off,I kill him off the line and then the unthinkable,I missed 3rd gear,he then started to catch up then I got 3rd back and started pulling again,by 110 I had 4 cars on him.all in all it was a fun race and we were both cool about it,Im looking forward to racing my friends 2001 C5 6 speed soon.Im stock for the exception of a K&N cold air,but the predator programmer and pulley wil be going in soon.

I looked at Cobra's 2 days ago. I would love to get one in Mystic Chrome. However one thing I really dislike was the shifter position. They also had an '04 on the lot that the dealer modified so it had the short throw shifter in it and that was even more weird feeling. Oh well maybe the gobs of horsepower that can be had will make me over look that.

03-04 Cobra's are sweet cars. So little mods, yet so much power.

As for the shifting, a lot of people say that the position sucks. I remember reading in a magazine that they were complaining because they had to actually lean off the seat to get into 3rd.

Only true if you are short and have short arms. I am 6 foot and a half inch tall and have no problems at all reaching 3rd in any Stang.

Yeah, but you still have to downshift to change CD's with a 5 speed snake.

In the June 2004 MM&FF they added a K&N cai to an 03 cobra I believe it was stock and the gained about 30rwhp and 10rwtq and the peak boost went from 8.9psi to 9.8 psi. Just a little something to think about when you say alost stock or lightly moded, these newer cobras are beasts.
