My 383 WS6 has its butt handed to it.

I was called out last night by a freind of mine that has a 2002 WS6 sixspeed with a few minor mods (exh and lid stuff) and a 125 shot of nitrous.

My car has been down the track as fast as 11.92 @ 115.4.

We went out of town and race off the bottle from a slow float. We stayed next to each other for a moment then I began to walk him good until he let out.

The next go we slowed to 30 he purged and we went , he immediately put my nose at his door then slowly he walked until there was 2 cars between my front bumper and his rear bumper. two more races resulted in the same.

I had a blast and was very impressed by his car.

We went from a slow roll so that launch would be completely negated since we were both on street tires.(and excuses)
Afterwards we talked and his car off the bottle has run a best of 12.8s @ 109 if I remember correctly, he only ran once on the juice and had a horrible launch resulting in a low 12 and 119 mph. Over all it was a blast.

Yeah I think I would have killed him from a stop with stikies on, but we just wanted to see how fast the cars were to each other. I was concerned of his 119 mph trap speed compared to mine, it proved to be the difference really.

Yeah my cars an auto and from the floats I was going in "D" it would downshift twice before we would take off giving him that half a car off the bat, but thats no excuse for the other 2 1/2 cars.

It seems like the only way to beat nitrous is with nitrous. Good runs

No. As long as you have a better power to weight ratio, all other things being equal, you will win. Nitrous is mearly a cheap easy way to add a bunch of horsepower.

I wouldn't say that exactly.

Well I said that because they have the same body so the na car is going to have to have 150 hp worth of mods if the other car just has the 150 shot and they go from a roll where traction isn't an issue. These are not acurate #'s so don't jump on me if the #'s are off.

Dude, I wasn't jumpin on ya, sorry if I gave that impression. I just meant that nitrous isn't the only thing that can compete with nitrous. A blower works pretty good too. Plus the blower doesn't run out of steam after 3 or 4 runs.

I was really impressed with how much the juice woke his car up, I men he runs N/A a trap speed of 109 and with a relatively small shot he gains 10 mph!!

His car was kind of a freak anyway, when it was bone stock it ran a 13.01 with a 2.0 60 foot time. He added nittos, an offroad Y , lid and freebees and it ran the 12.8s @ 109. if he could launch the thing it is well into the mid to low 11s on the sauce.

If I had manually shifted from the go like I said I could have taken a car length back, but still my best ETs mph was 115.4 nso he would have beat me regardless from the float like we went (unless he just absolutely missed a shift or two).
He also raced our other freinds 12.3 150 shot 2001 GT and beat him very very badly from a stop, go whatever. I am to race the GT soon.

A 10-13 mph gain is about right with a 125 shot.
