Yeah, I didn't think about the blower adding torque down low...I was thinking about n/a dohc's, but still, according to the dyno's I found online, the mustang looks to peak at around 4500 rpms. It's got a nice flat curve, but the Z06 still looks to have a torque advantage from 2500 rpms or so up to 6k rpm...Here's the links if you want them:

CID is easily made up for by the blower. The difference in top end is primarily due to the much better aerodynamics of the Vette.
That is incorrect. The blown DOHC makes its peak torque (390 rated) at 3500 rpm. The LS6 makes its peak torque (400 rated) at 4800 rpm.

There is one vid of a C6Z beating a "pullied" '03 Cobra, but the owner of the Cobra has no numbers or track times for the car.
A "520RWHP" Cobra would likely be a ported Eaton car...and it's not going to get "walked" by a stock C6Z.

That vid is a few months old, and they were supposed to run it back because the Cobra was having bad belt slip. You can even hear in the vid that the blower isn't spooling right.
Z06 is a badass car, and several have run in the mid-120's, but a ported Eaton car can be a handful.

Oh yea, a pulley alone on my car it made 426rwhp 444rwtq. With a few more simple bolt on's and a tune to go with that pulley, I'm at 500rwhp which is very easy to make on my car. More than that it starts to get pricey. Even with all that HP a local modified Z06 (heads, cam intake) beats me every time at the track. Its all relative, there's always someone faster

Even with a roots type blower NA bigger cube engines do seem to have an advantage down low.
Although the Snake has impressive figures. I actually had an article that showed the Cobra's tested had more then the advertised HP saying they where more like a 415-420 HP car, stock.I'll see if I can find it. Then again I have read the same thing about LS6's.

I have heard on that on numerous occasions as well. One of the guys over on svtperformance.com dynoed 383 rwhp stock SAE corrected. That is definetly not the norm, but it is well over 390 crank hp, unless there is only 7 horsepower lost through the drivetrain, and in that case I would love to see that drivetrain.
The last 03 Cobra I was in made more torque down low than my ls1 does, at least from a seat of the pants feel. But it was a pretty obvious difference.
Re: 03 cobra or 03 z06
I was there the night he did it(97.9). In fact I went 15s in his car because I couldn't launch it due to the blown rear.
Have seen others hit 95-97 MPH in good shape. 90 percent are no longer stock or are modded.

My best time in a stock Cobra is 12.87 at 112MPH. Best time in a pre 06 Z06 is 12.22 at 117MPH. One run I went 12.9 at 111MPH by forgetting to turn off the ASR-oops.

I guess your mustang had 270hp Stock? It would almost need it to trap that high.
