The C6 Z51 package is just a suspension setup, and brakes too, I think. You can get it with either transmission.
Stock for stock, Z06 takes it by a length or two, with the C6 Z51 probably edging out the Cobra as well.
Like everyone said, watch out for small mods on the Cobra. If he wins and the Corvette drivers didn't screw up, I can almost guarantee that he's not stock.

Are they gonna be on street tires or slicks?
I'm still going with everyone else though apples for apples the Z06 wins, but even just a pulley change and friggin' K&N filter and that Cobra will have one hell of an advantage.

That's one hell of a pulley!! A smaller pulley alone will only bring the car up to about 400-415 rwhp. For 550 hp you'll easily need all the bolt ons out there.
And I'm sorry, but I think you guys are giving the stock Cobra too much credit. Best I've seen (online stock) in snormans car. In person, I've never seen one close to that though. At my track, the stockers run between 12.8 and 13.4@109-112. The only stock Z06 I've seen run pulled 12.5@115 (against me no less...but I pulled my best ever of 12.2@122 on that run

The Z06 will win. A pulley to the Cobra and it's over. I just sold my 03 Cobra. It was fast as hell (591 rwhp) but damn it was heavy. I've raced ton's of 03-04 Cobras in my Z06 and have beat all but one. He had a KB @ 17 psi. I still was pretty close though. Weight does make all the difference. Most of the guys i've raced were 3800lbs+. They all had me on HP/TQ but i have them in weight.

I raced two Z06's on the street and when my Cobra was stock. Beat both of them. Also saw one at the track running 12.9-13.0's on a night I was running 12.7-12.8's.
But I agree that, equally driven, the Z06 should be .4-.5 quicker.

Everything else being equal, the Z06 should certainly win. Do want to make a couple of points....
CID is easily made up for by the blower. The difference in top end is primarily due to the much better aerodynamics of the Vette.
That is incorrect. The blown DOHC makes its peak torque (390 rated) at 3500 rpm. The LS6 makes its peak torque (400 rated) at 4800 rpm.

Equal drivers, both stock, Zo6 all the way. Lighter and more aerodynamic. What bob cosby said is right on the money.

More than that it starts to get pricey. Even with all that HP a local modified Z06 (heads, cam intake) beats me every time at the track. Its all relative, there's always someone faster
