00 SCed SALEEN vs ....My LS1

Guys,

I have a friend who purchased a 00 Supercharged Saleen thats bright yellow. We went out cruising last night and he was bieng bothered by this guy and girl in a 96 LT1 Z28. The guy kept on talking smack and revving at my buddy. My bud decided he had enough and proceded to drag the LT1 down the highway twice from a roll and twice from a stop. The Z was stock and should have realized, but noooo then he backs off of my friend and pulls beside me revving.
I just rolled the window down and made a "go away" motion with my hand. He got the hint after I did that accompanied by a 6,000 rpm rev that shook his hood.

Well moving on up to the exciting part. My friend and I were on the way home and he just wouldnt leave it alone....he had to find out how fast he was. We kicked it off three times from a roll and he fell back 3 cars to 120mph each time. I think his is a factory 6 lb roots blower and he has mid length headers, full exhaust, 3.73 gears and full RR suspension.

I won , but just wanted to let everyone know that this Saleen is one of the sweetest cars on the road. I felt like my car was junk riding beside him with his 18 inch chrome wheels and those mean looking ground effects. Man the car is so nice that I would like to own it myself.......(To all those that know me, No I am not getting rid of the Bird ) I would like to have it sitting beside it in the driveway.

Do you have any times on your car? You must be running, what low 12's or better. Good kill, I saw a 00 or so sced saleen and talked to the guy about it and he said he bought it for like almost 60 grand. I thought that was a little high but it is a nice car.

BiGGinZ,
My bud bought his used for $25 Gs with only 8,000 miles on the odie so Im not sure about $60,000 , but know they are very nice. I think his was in a wreck before he bought it and the paint was not original. It looks factory as can be , but maybe since it was wrecked they didnt charge as much ??? His is an S289 and not the big boy S351.

If you click on the link in my sig it will take you to my sponsor who is also a vendor of this site. Click on customer cars and you will see my dyno numbers. I am getting ready to race the car for cash this coming spring and really dont want to disclose the times because some of my local competition reads these threads.

Yea I know when he told me almost 60 I was kinda skeptical like maybe it was almost 50 and he figured since we were 3 kids he can just say 60 I don't know, that is just what he said. It was a 281 I think, right? Maybe 289 I don't know it was a while ago. The link in your sig isn't working for me though .

Nice numbers Mikie. You need some headers for sure! My little N/A LT1 is making more hp , but you murder me in the torque department
