I've raced GTs before, and usually it was an easy win for my bolt on LT1....

well, today i lined up against some cool kid... I didnt know he was gunna go, so i went after he did, and he had 2 cars on me, and i was like (i spun to hell, cuz i didnt know we were gunna go)

so i got next to him again at the next light, and he told me he swapped to a m5, 4.10s, intake/exhaust, so i was like damn nice....

he said there might be cops in the gas station, and said he doesnt wanna go...

but when the light turned green, at about 10mph we both puched it (i went as soon as i heard him floor it) and i had instant half a car length, and by mid 2nd for me we shut off :P (yeah it was a short race)

anyway, I'm happy, cuz i never thought i'd take a geared stang

u cant use the bad driver thing, cuz we just both floored it, and only 1-2 for him (it aint hard lol)

he was pretty cool... he said its a 2000, but only had 20K miles too

there was 1 other GT behind me that wanted to play, but there was too much traffic, and a 01 cobra... but again too much traffic ahead to play so we didnt =/

LT1 raced a '00 GT with 4.10s/intake/exhaust and won by half a car (10-60)

i have intake/cutout/160 thermo/PCM reprogram

 

thats why i'm so suprised tho....

he didnt seem like a bad driver, and he had 4.10s to my 3.23s
and full exhaust compared to my cutout

I do know a kid that lives in Boca with a black '99 or '00 GT that swapped his auto. for a M5 and I believe he has 4.10s...so I would think it's the same person.

oh yeah, whats funny is, the silver gt i mentioned just stopped right behind me in the next lane at the light... i assume they knew eachother, cuz he like gave his '1st' spot away at the light, and the black gt was behind me, and he slipped in :P

Good kill Seal , But I am not suprised....I have outran many 99+ stangs in my LT1 , I have never gotten beat " never raced a heavily modded one " . I had this friend who had a 2001 stang , w/410's and a few boltons . He was blabbing about my Z on the way back from the track talking about beating me and what not. At first i wasnt up for a race . Well , we was headed home , and I had a full cooler in my camaro , 2 people , and 3:23's , 6 speed....I had a cold air intake and free mods w/155k .......We punched from a roll at 5mph , I left him very bad , was gaining a car length every 5 seconds......The road back is very straight from the track for like 5 miles He tryed and tryed every chance , on like the 3rd attempt he hit his rev limiter in 2 gears....he even got a jump on me at one point same outcome every time...........Then there is this guy around town with this gorgeous Mustang , its a rare green color with a bad *** looking hood . Well this guy has a stall and gears " 3:73's " and he pulled beside me . I outran him horribly when he was stock , he's all about racing . Never bragged until he had all his stuff done , then he thought he was Bad , like real bad . Well we saw eachother one day, He looks over , cocky look . We went on green and I left this guy , didnt pull as bad but I was still pulling pretty good .
One week later another beefy looking pony come along at a light , 410's , new clutch , we was talking at the light . I had to many people in my car and thought for sure this guy was going to take me . Light turned green he went ahead and leaped , I said screw it , punched it and spun for a sec while scooting ......I started to catch him and after a few seconds i passed him .

Well , I have only ran It a few times , both times it had something wrong w/it . Here's how it goes , When I first ran the car I had a cold air intake , 3:23's , 6 speed , and a very junky clutch .
I still managed to pull off a 14.0"w/3:23's " @100mph w/a 2.3 60ft . I dont remeber what the 1/8th times was then , it was a few years ago . The second time ,many miles later , The car shut down on me before I could finish , long before . I had installed 410's and took it to the track that weekend . New clutch also , I could not hook up for nothing , the gears made it usless off the line w/out sticky tires , I was off to a sorry start , I got a 2.4 60ft and ran the 8th@83 , but I coasted , and I mean coasted thrue the end of the track@93mph . I think it shut down about 15-20ft before the end of the 1/4 . The gear change screwed with the computer somehow and It needs to be sent off and reprogramed . Wich Im selling the car to a good friend I got alot of time in that car "paint , hood , minor mods " Im 100%positive it will run at least a 13.4 if not a 13.3 with sticky tires . We will find out next spring . My friends mustang w/the 410's was running a 13.8 , thats pretty damn quick. I have a friend with a LT1 w/half the miles as mine . I beat him easily every race . He runs a consitant 14.0-14.1@97-98 He has it on tape , we had a friend with each of us and our friend in his car was taping one of the races , he even got a head start on me . I raced a LS1 SS camaro that had 5000 miles on it once , and he was not realy beating me bad at all , this was froma roll on the highway . He did beat me , time and time again , but he was not pulling fast nor far .He followed me off the ramp , When we pulled over he asked me " what do you have done to your car " at the time it was stock and I told him that . I dont think he bought it , but it was ... Im proud of My LT1 , very proud ....But anyway , didnt mean to stray , form the subject , but im sure it will hit a low 13 .
BTW , I saw your "where did robb go post " ...Im around Steve ,Im not going anywhere . Good times for a stang to 14 .0" , but dont let that compliment go to your head .. j/k
