Time for some new pads for the Z28, so I'm going with the Hawk HPS pads since I'm not a auto-crosser and just do street and ocassional drag strip driving. Will I need anything else for my brake job, or just swapping in the new pads be fine? My rotors look like they are in fairly good shape as well. Thanks in advance!

 

instead of wasting money on high dollar pads just get an LS1 set up. I got mine for $165 shipped and it out brakes aftermarket pads 10x's over. I reused the stock rotors and pads that came with the setup and they are still superior to my buddies stock LT1 with aftermarket pads.

 

Where can I get an entire LS1 setup new? Will it come with the pads too?

 

you can't get it new but you can get "kits" off of wrecked cars on Ebay. The kits are super cheap and if you get a complete one it will come with pads and rotors.

 

Should I look for a set that contains the caliper assembly and rotors? Will the calipers alone work with my 97 discs?

 

You need to find a kit that has, calipers, rotors, brake lines, and the spindles. You can make the LT1 brake lines fit. The LT1 rotors won't work as the LS1 set up uses 12in rotors while the LT1 rotors are only 11in.
