Why do they say not to use rod-ends on the street?

I'm looking at adjustable suspension components and alot of places say not use the 3/4" rod-end type LCA, etc... on the street. Is that due to noise or is there something that will fail on them if used on the street? What about for road racing? I've seen the poly on one end and rod-end on the other end type LCA's. The reason for that is to eliminate binding, right? So, why not rod-ends on both ends?

edit: I'm not interested in Drag racing this car anymore. Just autocross, road race and drifting.

most companies use cheap rodends. ask if they are QA1's. or ask the replacement rodends cost. if they are not $30 or more each, they are crap.
a cheap rodend will rattle like a **** on the street. it may last a couple of day before it starts. now good quality ones will last a long time. i have LG's poly/rod LCA's and they have been on for well over 3 years w/ tons of road racing track time. they are still noise free.
be aware that since there is a much more solid connection, they will transmit more road noise. but if you have a semi loud exhaust, you will never notice.
also, never use a oil based lub on them. it will "catch the dirt and the grit will "sand" the rodend to a larger tolarance and that will wear them out faster and cause them to rattle. i use dry graphite spray from NAPA. it has an liquid carrier that will evaporate and leave the graphite lube behind.

I also suggest getting a set of rod-end seals from Seals-it as well. They help keep the dirt and road grime out of the joint and thus last longer. The ride is defenetly stiffer, but it handles oh so nicer than stock rubber joints.

And DEFENETLY use a high-quality joint, I've got the QA1 Chromoly ones with the teflon inserts. I got mine off of ebay for a sweet price deal.
