What size spacers for rear hub of 95 z28

What size spacers needed for rear of 95 z28
I know our cars have 70.3 bore but I’m also aware of the rears being slightly larger so what spacers are needed ? Or do they need to be modified. Any input is appreciated

The standard approach to fitting the wheels over the rear hubs (93-96) is to lightly sand/Dremel the bore of the wheels. This technique was used by SLP for modified cars like the SS, Firehawk, etc.. Generally, do all 4 wheels so you can rotate periodically. The F-Body wheels are lug-centric (positioned by the conical lug nuts), not hub-centric.

”Spacers” would be required only if fitting wheels with large positive offsets (e.g. many late model Corvette wheels).

I’m very aware my rear wheels currently have been massaged my question is for the spacers specifically, if I had 97-02 or 98-02 (can’t remember when they fixed it) then I would just get the spacers I need no problem but since I have a 95 I want to see what people have done to fit spacers

Why do you need a “spacer”? Are you trying to move the stock wheels outward, toward the edge of the fenders? Or are you installing aftermarket wheels? If so, what width and offset?

They’re the stock oem SS wheels so 17x9, 50mm offset, 275/40/17 I just want the rears to fit a bit betters and yes I know the 17x11 zr1 wheels fit better but they don’t come chrome (at least not oem) and I already spent a chunk of change on the SS wheels and tires

Re: What size spacers on rear of 95 z28

Do you want the rears spaced roughly the same as these:

The rears are 17”x11” 50mm offset. The “front space” is 4.0”. Your 17”x9” 50mm have a 3” front space. A 1” spacer would move them out to appear the same as above.

That’s exactly what I’m going for my only concern is the spacer is likely not going to be sized for the hub on my car being that it’s a 95 and the fact that the rear is slightly larger than the front 70.3 so that’s my question. Do I just buy the spacer for the 70.3 and hope it fits the rear or do I have to massage a tiny bit of material from the spacer for it to fit. I can’t be the only one who wanted or has put spacers on the rear of their 93-97 cars

Some spacers are “universal” - they have only one “large” hub hole, and no centering hub lip on the outer face. That's all you need for lug-centric wheels. Here's one from JEGS, with a 74mm hole.

Others are specifically made for various makes and models. Here's one that claims it fits 4th Gen Camaros, front and rear, but also includes the comment “70.5mm, not fit on front hub”. Would that fit over your rear hub? And if the hub hole is 70.5mm, what diameter is the hub lip for your new wheels to fit over? You would need to resolve that with the manufacturer.

Note that I am not endorsing either of these products. I've never used them. Just using them as examples of what's available. It would be great if someone who actually used these items would pitch in, but unfortunately while there are over 100,000 members, hardly anyone comes here to help out.

that was my exact thinking actually after talking more with you it started to unravel, with our cars being lug centric I think I should be good but to your point hoped someone with experience would chime in but obviously I won’t do anything that I feel is unsafe but I’ll explore my options. Thanks injuneer, always helpful.
