Koni DA, I hear great stuff about them, I cant afford them myself though. even he SA,
But the bilstein HD seems to be popular.
same with the SLP bilsteins I love mine.

Koni DAs if you do track time. I just did these on the front and it's a HUGE improvement over the SLP Bilsteins. I didn't change anything else, just the shocks. Of course, now I really need to get some Bilstein HDs or Koni SAs for the rear.

The SLP Bilsteins are valved specifically to match the springs on the car, and are geared to give a good compromise of ride and performance (balanced a little more towards ride). The Bilstein HDs are quite a bit better for handling, but will sacrifice just a little bit of ride quality. The Koni SA (or DA) shocks will handle better even at their softest setting than the SLP Bilsteins, while giving a good ride. Plus you can adjust them to get outstanding handling. As for the QA1s, I would NOT get them if you are interested in handling. They are first and formost a drag shock that can function as a street shock. I've tried them several years back and returned them after a few weeks.

Can some of you post where you got your shocks from and pricing?

I'm also on the market for shocks, but would love to see how they compare in pricing also and where to buy. I do know of Strano so far, but what other options would I might have?

Strano would be my choice on who to buy from. But you could also use:
Tirerack.com
bimmerparts.com
slponline.com

I got my Konis from SLP when they were mistakenly selling DAs for SA pricing, but they have since corrected that mistake. I would honestly stick with Sam unless it's just a super good price that he can't match. He knows these cars, and is always willing to give good free advice.

Yet again we have another shock thread this has been beat in the ground. Do a search or Call Sam or

Best: koni or blistein revalved(almost as good not adj but good bit cheaper)
Good:
Bilstein HD's
Slp Bliestins or AGX ( go with blestein imho)

I bought Koni Sa's/front and Bilstien HD's/rear from Strano. Haven't been able to get them on yet as I'm doing a whole new suspension for the car including shocks, shock mounts, rack, bushings, tie rods etc....but I can't wait till I finish putting it all on

Strano= Good people! Give them a call tell them what you want to use the car for! Street/AutoX or Street/Drag or whatever. Seemed like no matter who it was that picked up the phone there had the answers and I never even got to talk to Sam he was out racing.
