Weird sound when I brake, been happening for years.
Hey all, I have a problem that has been actually going on for years now. I just delt with it, it starting geittng annoying this past weekend. When I brake, usually when going slow and coming to a stop I hear kinda like a thump or metal snap type sound coming from the front, i think its the front left of the car. I dont think it is the rotors or the pads since I have changed them like 2 or 3 times since i've had the car and the sound never went away. What could this be?
It only happens when i apply the brake, I had the whole k member down for my 383 swap so its not a loose kmember or sway bar. What is weird is sometimes i hear it on the right front of the car also, could just be me, but its def comming from the front i think. Could it be something with the rack? Every time I installed the pads and rotors I'm pretty sure i did them correctly, greese on the back side of the pad, etc.. etc.. etc.. It's not the motor mounts, its not the trans mount either. Spindle, ball join, berring or something? Never really messed with them.

Its not the pads or rotors, this problem has been an issue ever since i got the car.....the problem stayed even after new pads and rotors were installed 2 or 3 times over the years. Could it be a ball joint?
