Weight savings with chromemoly.

Does anybody know off hand what the weight savings would be with a chrome moly torque arm compared to a mild steel torque arm? Right now I have a Spohn mild steel, cross member mounted torque arm with a front drive shaft loop and I'm considering either getting a UMI, Spohn or having a custom chrome moly torque arm built. And whats the deal with them not suggesting a rear drive shaft loop if your lowered, does it just not have enough clearance or what? And is a rear drive shaft loop required for racing or is it just for precaution.

you will save a few pounds with the chrome moly over the mild steel, but it really depends on who manufactures it, some companies may use more material. i have a umi torque arm which is pretty nice, i like it. I went to UMI to pick up my suspension and i asked them some questions about the materials. they told me it really didn't make a difference between the two. the chrome moly is a stronger material, but the use less of it to save weight, and since they use less cm material it is about just as strong. hope that helps.

I though it would be more like 10-15lbs. I guess I'll just stick with good old steel.
