Vacuum Reservoir installed, still no brakes??

So i have a 383 stroker with lloyd trickflow ported heads, I have cross drilled rotors and some high performance street brake pads, maybe about 5k miles on the brake setup.

I have a cam which is about 234/248, around there, and I have had no brakes since i picked up the car, and im still unsure how well the brakes were before i picked up the car.

Anyways, i can press the brakes as hard as i can and i barely get any braking, especially at lower speeds, i have a little more at higher speeds and its still like this after installing a vacuum reservoir. It is extremely difficult to push down on the brake pedal.

I don't believe the rear brakes were bled but i know the fronts were. Could it be the brake booster or master cylinder?

what are some things to check out and what is the easiest way to see how much vacuum im pulling with a gauge, the simplest gauge setup?

any help or suggestions are appreciated.

thanks
Zeeshan

Does the brake pedal go all the way tot he floor? Also were the abs lines taken off during the motor build as well?. Might want to get a vacume guage and see how much vacume your seeing at at idle. With a cam like that you should still have breakes as people are running much bigger cams with there motor and still retain good break pressure.

i don't think im able to get the brake pedal down all the way, and yeah, i agree that i should have a lot better brakes than i do.

the abs lines were actually taken off of the front and put back on.

well i bled the brakes just to see what would happen since it took about 10 min, and now i can actually brake and have the tires screech to a stop and i can slam the brake and get the jerky effect which i didn't have before.

im pretty sure my brakes are as good as they were before i got the motor and cam done.
