Question UMI C5 brake conversion

Has anyone done the UMI C5 brake conversion while using "Discount Tire's" ZR-1 replica wheels (17 x 9.5). I'm just trying to confirm that there's no interference problem before I buy. I've seen the template and it's looks like it's very close.
Thanks

Re: UMI C5 brake conversion

I have the conversion UMI or Kore3 they are the same as far as the spacing of the caliper to center it on the rotor. I have a set of ZR-1's with my C5 brakes and there are no issues with it clearing.

Thanks for the reply gixxer92 ... btw, your name wouldn't refer to the GSXR-1100, would it? I have an 86 1100 and have been looking for info on converting from 18" to 17" wheels (the 1100 wheels were from 88 to 92, I think)

Yeah it does, I used to race a 92 750 GSXR at Black Hawk Farms many years ago........
Don't know much on the conversion, sold the bike 5 years ago and have never bought the GSXR 1000 that I have wanted forever

Gixxer92:
I've been thinking of a new 1000 too but also like the idea of the 86 with the APE "big block" plus other upgrades but feel I would need to get to 17s because all the new street rubber is for 17s. I'm still using Comp Ks which work quite well but feel they wouldn't be up to the job after mods. Decisions ... decisions!
Again, thanks for the C5 confirmation. At least I can get that done now.
