two questions....

T-top /hardtop is there that much diff in flex/roll under hard acceleration? ive always had a hardtop and never even road in a Ttop camaro, im just wondering if theres even a noticable diff. in the two, and i saw where a guy had a aluminum driveshaft and had slicks with his rear end launchd from 3500 rpms and just riped the driveshaft apart like it was nothing, with around 500 hp would you do that to an aluminum driveshaft? if so is the stock one better in that case? i changed mine when i encountered teh hard vibrations at 90+

Re: two questions....

stiffness is kindda a relative term. yes the hardtop is stiffer than the ttop, and both are better than the convertables.

although i think even the hardtops will benefit from stiffening mods like STB and SFC. i'd be willing to bet it would still be a noticable difference.

and yes 500hp and slicks is more than enough to trash an alum driveshaft, probably even the steel ones if it's launched hard enough. the shock to the drive line is more damaging in M6 cars from what i'm told.

i've heard many discussions on how much weaker the alum LS1 shaft is. even saying that the 1LE shafts from 3rd gens, even though they are alum, are stronger.
if you're making that much power, i would invest in a Denny's shaft...i think they make them for applications of 1000+hp.
