Tubular K member for 4th gen?????

Hello all
Well, I'm finally digging in. I bought my 97 anniversary Z28 when it was 4 months old. In 7 years I've only added a K&N, Hypertech, 4.10s, and a pro-series auburn. That's pretty stock for my tastes, AND I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE!!!!!!
A simple 70K tuneup has turned into a new optispark, MSD wires, LT4 module, SLP headers, off road Y pipe, O2 simulators, and subframe connectors. And it continues to snowball out of control.
So Here's the deal. I'm looking at tubular K members made by Pro-Fab. Does anybody out there have any experience with these? I'm mostly concerned with improving working access. I also wonder about the strength, is it really an upgrade?
But for me it's all about maintenance access. I do ALL my own work, and $300 is a worthwhile investment if I'm going to be hugging the bottom of the motor for a decade. I dream of the day when I can see a bolt and touch it at the same time.
If you've worked on a 4th gen with one, please reply. You'd be the greatest.
Thanks!

Re: Tubular K member for 4th gen?????

I have a BMR K member on my 97 Z28.
I know the front got way tighter big time.
Night and day diffreance.
As for access I can't say for sure had not worked on the car since the install.
But I can say for sure It cleard up alot of space.
It's worth it to me.
My BMR k member came with a built in polyurethane pasanger mount.
So be sure that if the one you are getting has the same thing you replace the other mount.
And make sure you got the right one too.
I ended up getting the wrong side.
And it's too old to return.

Chris.

Thanks Chris
I'm looking at a pretty basic piece, no included mounts. I recently put poly mounts on my 81 elcamino (350HO crate/TKO 5 sp) and I was impressed with the improvement. And no future detoriation from oil soak, even better.

Wanna make a deal on the one you've got leftover? If so, let me know the brand, price, and such so I can estimate buying a pair new versus paying shipping on singles. Thanks, Todd

Just a note:

I've read not-so-flattering things about aftermarket k-members. Seems they develop cracks. Often enough that serious RR guys won't run them. LG is rumored to have one in the works, at least hold out for it (if it ever sees the light of day).

For those of you who currently have aftermarket K's, I hope you inspect them closely on a regular basis!
