I can get a good deal on a 3.73 rear however it has drum brakes which I dont want so Id have to take my brakes off and swap them. I need to know if its a simple bolt on deal or if I have to modify anything. Basically can I simply remove the disks and drums and swap them or do the axles need to be changed as well? Thanks

 

It depends on what it came out of.

 

i havent tried changing a drum brake 10 bolt to a disc brake set up

would it be easier to take the differential out of the drum brake set up and throw it in the disc brake rear?

 

Shoebox i believe the drum brake car is the a 96 V6 and the disk brake car is a 97z28.

 

Someone put 3.73s in a V6 car? Then I don't see there being a problem in swapping over the brakes as long as they are not mixed TCS and non-TCS.

 

Yeah, it probably sounds funny that the 3.73's were in a V6 car but the car was in the process of becoming a LT1 car.

 

Actually there was an LS1 in it.
