Lightbulb Suspension, What to buy

Ok so I have $1,200-$1,600 to spend on Suspension. I need new Shocks/Springs. What shocks/springs should I be buying if I want a Good Ride, not lowered too much, but better E.T.'s "more Traction, less hop". I dont know much about Suspension, so what else should I be getting, LCA's, Tourqe Arms Etc. Where is the Best place to buy these. If someone could give me a good setup in which they have experience with. Mainly I'm trying to get rid of my wheel hop. Ever since my 2800 Stall my car need's some help Gripping the road.

Are you wanting a drag suspension or handling? There is a difference.

Might also want to try a search.

Re: Suspension, What to buy

The problem is, things like bigger sway bars that will help you with handling will hurt straight line traction.

I'll give a shot at some things for both.
1.TIRES
2.SFCs
3.Shocks
4.Torque arm - poly bushings on related parts.
5.LCAs-If you lower, get relo brackets also.
6.Swaybars- These will help handling but hurt at the strip. The solution, remove them when dragging.
7.Springs- since you want both handling and traction, I wouldn't mess with them. You could go to a coilover set up if you wanted. If you just want the lowered look and don't want to dump the cash in coil overs: Check out the lower rated springs like BMR, SLP, Eibiotch, or the Koni fronts on the lower perch and stock springs w/heater hose mod on back springs.

Re: Suspension, What to buy

ahh, half and half...just like me. well, here's what i'd do that would benefit both, or at least not hurt the other...
1) tubular lca's. and relocation brackets if u want
2)boxed weld in subframe connectors
3) tubular panhard rod
4)strut tower brace
5) good shocks (kyb makes good budget build shocks if u are like me and can't afford QA1's.
6) tubular torque arm... optional.

These are the suspension things i would do. UMIperformance.com has most or all of thes pieces at a very very good price. ibuy from them...good customer service, great price and quality. no issues what so ever...knock on wood.
