Stupid ? about front struts on 96 Z28

This may seem like a dumb question but I'm installing my new KYB struts in the front of my 96 Z28 and wasn't sure if I tighten the nyloc nut on the top of the strut all the way or only part of the way because if I tighten it all the way I'm not sure if it will hit the inside of the strut tower on the car. I couldn't tell when I took the old ones off because they were so rusty and rotted it was hard to tell what was what. Any feedback is appreciated.

Tighten all of the way down.

Torque to 32 ft*lb.

To be completely correct, you would have to call them "Coil Over Shocks".
