Stuck Bear front Caliper! Need Help!!!

After about 1000 miles on the new brakes (Bear 2 piston GT+) my right front caliper stuck!!!! I drove to a safe place a mile or two down the road. The right front brake was so hot, it boiled the fluid and the pedal went to the floor.

Why did a caliper stick? How do I fix it? Is it the caliper, or master Cyl?
Is it bad that my new crossdrilled rotor turned blue??? Did I ruin the pads?

Any help would be most appreciated!!!

Speedy

If it stuck after only 1000 miles, I'd call Baer and get them to replace the caliper, rotor and pads for that side. They shouldn't have any problem doing so since it's so new.

I bought the kit from TByrne. Should I call them?

Yes, I'd call them first, but don't be suprised if they want you to go ahead and call Baer directly.

Julie at TBYRNE is going to call Bear for me so we'll see how it goes!!!!!!

Hopefully they will at least have some tech advice, of not some kind of recourse.

Baer sent me a brand new front caliper even though the 30 day warranty had expired. They even sent it to me via UPS red! Thank you very much to Julie at Tbyrne and Bill at Baer for their help! Hopefully I can install this by the weekend and get back on the road!!!!!

Did you find out what happened?

Was the blue rotor like a burnished metalic color? or was this possibily brake fluid from a blown o-ring/dust boot? (not sure what the "blue" looked or felt like... was it a substance "on" the rotor?)

The rotor is definately a blue color from being sooo hot. We are thinking that either something from the manufacturing process could have made the piston stick, or perhaps even a contaminate in my system may have caused the piston to stick and not allow the pad to retract. Either way, I have the new caliper all ready to install, and the old one will be sent back to Baer for analysis. My hope is that the rotor is not waarped. If it is, we'll have to cross that bridge when I get this thing back on it's wheels!
