Strut top nut

How easy will it be to just tighten the top nut on the front strut spring assembly? will i be able to get away with just unbolting it from in the engine compartment?

Re: Strut top nut

Are you talking about the top nut on the shock shaft that holds the top seat on the spring/shock assembly? You can not access that nut from inside the engine compartment. You have to remove the spring/shock assembly from the car, and use a spring compressor to disassemble it, and reassemble it. On a stock shock, the nut is usually rusted fast to the shaft, and sometimes even to the metal ferrule in the top seat, and has to be cut off.

Or did I misunderstand your question?

I really doubt it.

How would they come loose? You tightened them down all the way right? You didn't reuse the nut from the old shocks to the new ones did you?

I'm confused too, did you create an access hole in your engine compartment, because that nut is not accessible from under the hood from the factory.
