I see that the majority of the people say to use the parts from the dealer and that the ones from Moog,etc are junk. I'm thinking about trying to just reuse the factory ones when I install the new shocks. How many of you have actually been able to reuse the factory strut mount? Anyone want to chime in if they did use an aftermarket brand that lined up correctly and worked,etc?

 

The ones on my 97 were still in good shape, but I had to destroy one off of my 93 to get the shock out. If you have it apart, replace them.

 

I know like at Carquest, their shocks are KYB and mounts are from Gabriel/Maremont... I have no issues yet... _

 

I went ahead and ordered the mounts,if I don't need them I'll return them.

 

I would replace them. Sooner or later, they are going to dry rot and start cracking, leaving the top of the shock loose. Your car is going on 14 years old.
