steering rack: LT1 > LS1

well my wheel has play, and the tie rods and ball joints are fine, and the bushings and joints in the linkage look okay, so ive determined its the rack.

would switching to an LS1 rack be an upgrade as opposed to just replacing mine with another LT1 rack? are the splines on the linkage the same?

i'd like to use the LT1 linkage, a friend of mine had a problem with his header install on his LT1 with LS1 linkage.
