Steering moved after hard braking....

I get one thing fixed and something else breaks......

Now that I have "good" braking, I performed a hard stop where it did activate the ABS(on dry pavement). After that stop, the steering wheel "center" is now 1/8 revolution to the left. I got out and checked the wheels to see if they were straight when the wheel is off center and they were.....so something has happened.

So here is my question...is it possible for the steering gear to jump a tooth?

The rack does feel funny now. There also appears to be green grease/oil of some type on the under sides of the boots on both sides of the rack. I know I've never seen it before. The rack was dry last time I was under the car.

I have no explanation as to how this could have happened.....unless one of my calipers is biting harder than the other and "pulled" the gear hard one direction under massive braking. I'm grasping on that....

I have been looking under the car for moved suspension components. Nothing appears to have moved. The lower a-arm mounting bolts don't show any signs of having been forced to move under load. Tie rods look fine as well.

Any opinions are welcome.
