So I have had a squeak that is constant on my 2000 Camaro SS - coming from the driver's rear side. Pushing down on the hatch I can recreate and hear it. It wasnt until I got it in the air that I found the source.

It is the plastic sleeve / housing around the shock. If I hold it with my hand the squeak is gone. Anyone else experience this. Can this plastic be removed or do I need to replace the entire shock. And it is only one side !
