Squeaky car

I've been noticing my car squeaks when I get in and out of it. Is it just old bushings causing this? Car has 68,000 miles, probably all original stuff on there. I was thinking of getting new springs, shocks, bushings, and an APHR. I'm also upgrading to LS1 brakes so I figure, if I'm in there, I might as well replace it all

What kind of spring/shock combo works at the strip?

Re: Squeaky car

Sounds like your shock bushings deteriorated. Good idea on the mods. Go with 50\50 shocks like lakewood offers.

Re: Squeaky car

What about springs? What matches the Lakewoods? Eibach, DMS?

Re: Squeaky car

The rear springs squeak on their bottom metal perches. Just put some grease where the spring sits on the perch and it will go away.

Re: Squeaky car

My car does this too but I only hear it when I go over a bump or imperfection in the road when the car "bounces" down and then back up if I get into a pot hole or something.

What type of grease should be used on the spring perches? Would white lithium grease be alright?

Re: Squeaky car

Mine does it in the rear too. I just figured it was brushings or the springs and am not worried. I will get to replacing them someday
