sqeaky shocks

I have Bilstein shocks on my car, and had them for 20k miles. Within the last couple of months they started to creak on severe bumps. But now it has gotten so bad that leaning on the front of the car causes them to creak and sqeak. I have no reason to believe its not the shocks, but why on earth would they go bad in only 20k miles and if so wouldnt it be covered by some sort of gaurantee. I checked Bilsteins website there is nothing there. What kind of mileage do you guys get from your shocks.

Re: sqeaky shocks

have 101,xxx miles on my stock shocks and they just started to squeak, put WD40 and its gone. YOU must of hit some speed bumps pretty hard to get squeakiness causing premature friction and core asymmetrical planes in the bilstien shocks...yeah, try greasing them...???

Re: sqeaky shocks

hey alex,
long time no chat,

are you sure it is the struts / shocks ?

ball joints, tie rod ends, any other suspension parts need grease or some sort of lube ?

hope you figure it out.

Have your swaybar endlinks checked out. Mine would squeak really loud going over speedbumps. I replaced them with polyurethane ones and the noise went away.
