spring/shock insatll...need help please...

I have another problem... i have the new shock/spring assembly in the car. I put my front tire on but it wont go up into the wheelwell! Its like it is getting caught on something. rap... i think i may have figured it out... is it possible to put upper a-arm on the wrong side????
edit... put a brick under my rotor and let the car down and nothing will compress... nothing on the suspension will compress, what the hell??

On the A-arms the smooth side goes up, the open side goes down. As long as the upper strut mount is on correctly, and the car won't compress any at all, then the shock might be seized. Some shops use air guns to torque the strut bolts, and this causes them to sieze or the valve to implode. BIG problem with KYB's and other brands of struts.

Double check EVERYTHING, get a Hayne's manual if possible. It's either installer error, or a bad strut.
