I have done a search and not found any brand recommendations.

Does Craftsman make a coil spring compressor that works well and is of decent quality?

I just don't want to end up with one that is a dangerous piece of crap.

I am in Toronto so don't necessarily have easy access to some brands.

What's the max your willing to spend?

 

Lisle 62300. Simple, but a pretty safe design. No way it can slip off.
